Well, I guess I should have been content with what I had. After scrubbing and trying to reload I find that I cannot get any version of Sketchup back onto my machine.

Now I just have to get upgraded or give up on Sketchup.

Go here and get V6 and see if you can get that version working again:

I tried this, Ed. It led me to the same dead end. I think Google has updated and no longer downloads previous versions. After all, this is free and maintenance of old files does cost them.

Guess I scrubbed the files a little too good for my own good. That is what happens when you employ regedit.

I have managed to download a version of Sketchup but I don't know for how long. It is Sketchup Pro and is annotated as being Expired so it may jusy quit at any time.

I certainly have not mastered anything other than drawing rectangles and circle and the push-pull function but it is interesting to play with.

Without mastering it anymore than I have I can at least do some sketches of what I plan to build. My grand daughters boy friend wants to build a work bench in my shop (for his shop). I'll do some sketches so that we can be sure we are building what he needs.

Thanks again to all who gave assistance to this project. Ed Reible - especially to you. I even used your post as a guide to what this should look like. I see several problems but it is a first step.

I went to the site Ed sent and downloaded Sketch up 7 and it works if I just knew more but from all of you guy talking and showing what you are doing I have to try.

Thanks, Dusty. I added this to my favorites. I ordered the book from Amazon, should have it this week.

Also go to the youtube link Ed listed in post #3. It has a lot of videos by the author for chapters 2,3,&4. You can learn a lot from just watching them. My copy of the book should arrive any day now.
