Update on the jigsaw!

Pulleys are as follows:
AK46X1/2 4.45" X 1/2" Single groove ...... jigsaw pulley
1VP34X5/8 3.15" X 5/8" Vari-speed Pulley .....motor pulley
Next, I'll be experimenting with installing, adjusting, and tensioning blades in the jigsaw. It seems like a very finicky way they are done, getting them straight and all. I'm sure practice and patience will make it easier.

How was 'shipping' costs?
I be interested in pulleys since a stand mount conversion for my ss mounted planer is on the todo list.

Shipping was about $11 per, but that was 2 separate orders. Probably best if you order multiples.

I seem to be having trouble aligning the head housing (air pump housing), so that the upper chuck and square tube line up with the lower chuck.
I have discovered that the eccentric wedge will adjust the alignment of the upper chuck to the lower chuck. By turning the eccentric wedge within the jigsaw tube arm before tightening, the head housing will adjust about a 1/2" right to left when facing the normal cutting position. With the notch straight up, the chuck is at it's furthest distance to the right. Turning it towards the bottom, moves it left.
The notch on this eccentric wedge's collar looks designed for a spanner wrench in order to turn it when adjustment is required to line the chucks up, say during a complete re-assembly like I've done.

My concern also is once the chucks line up, are they really moving up and down in the same line? I'll be experimenting with this in the next couple days.
I made a crude alignment pin on the shopsmith to help initially setting the chucks. Only problem with it is the upper chuck has to be removed and the lower chuck's jaws need to be removed. Then the pin fits into the square tube and the lower chuck.

Another problem to resolve is there is a small deflection in the blade when tightening in the upper chuck. Blade install instructions call for mounting the blade in the lower chuck first. When tightening the blade in the upper chuck, if it deflects (to the left in my case), it puts a slight bow in the blade.
If the blade flexes needlessly during operation, that will generate heat in the blade and probably early breakage will result.
It's possible once these other adjustment are achieved, that will be a non-issue. We'll see!
