Thanks.
The new forum doesn't make it easy to hyperlink text. I corrected the link in the last post. Let's see how this one goes...

We've got 5° F for overnight lows coming, and winds gusting to 60mph. I hope the tent holds up. But before the cold snap nails me starting tonight, I'm keeping the progress up on the aft state walls.

BET it's much harder to fit those panels in a Chris Craft then in a home. :)
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders, molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.

Yeah, it's a tight squeeze no matter which way I turn. But once I figured out where, when, and in what order to twist and turn, it was a breeze. Of course, that happened when I put the last panel in place... ;-)

With low temps hovering somewhere in the vicinity of 10°F recently, progress has been a bit slower than I'd hoped for this winter. Fortunately, the kero bazooka heater doesn't take long to heat up the aft stateroom. Progress is happening, and it's all in the right direction.

There's some very old wisdom that says “He who fails to plan, plans to fail.” Still more old wisdom says measure twice, cut once. Well, I don't know what old saying applies when you plan really well then just go ahead and wing it, but that's pretty much what I did when fitting one of the aft stateroom panels. Fortunately, it didn't lead to failure, but I did end up measuring at least four times and cutting twice to get back on the plan.

With all of the wall panels and corner pieces clear coated and cut to fit, the next step is attaching them in their final resting places. I've never heard of anybody doing joinery the way I am, with the base coat applied before the panels are assembled, so this is the big test to see if it works. Fortunately, the results were very nice. I love it when a plan comes together. :)

OK, now it's for sure...winter's pretty much done for 2015. We had an 8" dump of snow on Thursday, with temps down to 10 overnight. Then...60 over the weekend and no more nights below freezing. yeeehaw!

In spite of the harsh winter, I got another wall in. YEEHAW!

You know, it slides off pretty well all by itself!

The good news is that winter is over and the tent didn't collapse! Oh, and I got another wall installed.

Got the aft stateroom center-line wall installed. After all of the prep work getting the walls ready to install, it's great to see the plan come together. It's also good that the plywood stack is getting smaller, since it's been in the way for a couple of years. On the downside, the more walls that go up, the harder it is getting around and moving stuff from one place to another. Gotta be careful not to damage the installed panels...
