Since this Forum is owned by SS, shouldn't they care?
If I get a 4 degree conical sanding disc, to do some jointing, and I can't joint, I'm going to be PI$$ED! Shopsmith NEEDS to rectify that.

(Oh, will the conical disc work on my E and ER stuff? It should, because the quill mount hasn't changed, and I'd be using it on the side of the main table. But, that doesn't matter to Shopsmith, because I've got TONS {quite literally} of stuff that "won't work" on an ER, that I use.)
Sorry for the rant, I'll climb off my soapbox now. (Damn things are made out of cardboard now, and ain't worth a S***!):D

Yes they will work on a '10'. Just do not try
through the table use.
Like any 'setup' the user needs to assure it is done so properly, and that includes verifying angles if joints are being made. IMHO the scales are for initial reference only.
If sanding to width and you desire a square edge, you must verify the disk is at a right angle to the table, not read the angle scale.
Cardboard?
One can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink. Before the horse will slurp, it must think it needs water.
SS does not recognize that there is a 'problem' here.

I would guess that he says it is not 4° because it is really more like 3.4° but what difference does that make. Tilt the table to the angle you want and go for it.

This was the first major project I did with my Mark V. I remember drawing out this bowfront and cross-cutting a number of pieces that had the table at a tilt of no more than 3 or 4 degrees.... my calculations have been lost in the sands of time. I still use this table every day:

Point being, if you want/need a square edge, you cannot assume 4° and tilt the table 4° and expect to get a square edge.
Use a square and 'square' the table to the disk or as 'Big Sky' said to the angle you want.
