I notice that in the prosilver mode, the moderator is no longer listed as Nick (Engler) but says admin now. The former notation probably slipped by during setup of the new forum.

I do believe that our moderator and admin are Nick Engler, which is an awesome thing!

I don't know why you think that. Nick has been gone from Shopsmith for years now.

You are right however. The 'Administrator'/'Moderator' is awesome.

I'm not following exactly where this occurs (doesn't look like that on my screen). Which style (prosilver or shopsmith1), what browser/operating system, etc.

For everyones info...

I have updated the maximum image size to 1920x1080 (should be as large a screen as most anyone has). One concern with the larger size is how it will affect download times for anyone viewing it on a smartphone.

Shopsmith1 style is a new style unique to Shopsmith. Changes are being made to it to fix bugs and add features. It is intended to be responsive (work on any screen size).

ProSilver style is the standard style that comes with phpBB software. I don't plan to make changes to it, as any changes would be undone when a new version is issued (we intend to stay on the current version of everything for the forum). We can report issues with it to the phpBB group. If their are too many issues with it, I do have the option of adding one of the other 3rd party styles that is based on it, we may need to do that to handle the large image/small screen issue.

I also think the Shopsmith1 style seems to have bigger font as it is easier from my tired old eyes to read.

Thanks Shopsmith for the forum!

I think the large font size and narrow column width is the main thing I dislike about the shopsmith1 style and why I keep reverting back to prosilver. Can't please all the people all the time!

Me too! Also I prefer the auto display posted thread after submitting.

Using the 'home' key is interesting! I do not like the forum home in Shopsmith1.

Actually, when I first logged on everything was as normal except a lot of unread posts. While I was attempting to catch up with the reading, everything changed.

Right now, it is frustrating because it is all new.

I must find a way to mute this very light colored screen. Looking at it for just a while burns my eyes.
I can now see where this brightness issue could be an unresolvable problem or could be a problem only for me.

I logged on a while ago from a different computer; a laptop with a much smaller screen. With that monitor, I have no complaints about the brightness.

I am working (slowly) on a revision to the shopsmith1 style. One of the recommendations here on the forum was to move the poster information/avatar from the right side to the top of the message. I plan to test how that approach would work with various screen sizes (desktop/laptop/tablet). If it works well, that will eliminate the big white box at the right side that is distractingly bright

It feels to me as though the site is working quite well. Yes, there are likely some bugs left but I believe that is to be expected. Furthermore, it seems to me as though the bugs (if there are any) are more cosmetic than functional.

I have been switching back and forth between prosilver and shopsmith1 and I find few functional differences. What I do find are instances where I have not yet come to the top of the learning curve. Also, I have used the old site since shortly after it became available and I got very comfortable with it. That is no longer the case. I am now a newby. I am trying hard to not resist the changes.
