There is no need to travel to Dayton to marry the Power Pro.

I haven't been on this site for about 3 weeks. I came on today and what do I find! The new Power Pro was available for a short time. I will order one but it will probably be in the fall of the year. I like Farmer have to many things going on right now to justify ordering now.
I am surprised to see that vote results don't post names, I thought that on earlier votes items our names were posted.
The price for the unit I guess is about where I had thought it would be. Will have to read more of these posts to see how happy everyone is when they receive theirs. I don't doubt for a minute that new oeners will be happy, after all it is a ShopSmith.........

This is an option that the originator of the poll chooses when he builds it.

I figured anyone who wanted their choice made public could so post.

I simply do not have the skill at this point to utilize the added capability of the upgrade. I don't do any turning, and little shaping, so the speed is not a big issue. I suppose I might at some point, but I suspect i will spend my $ on SPTs before I do the PowerPro. I will admit to a certain attraction to the thing. It an interesting piece of equipment that challenges my VERY limited electrical knowledge. I hope it does what SS hopes and needs it to do. It sure sold out the first run in a hurry!!:)

It looks like it just might be in great demand (based on the short length of time before they were soldout). But since we don't know how many were sold to other than forum members, it might not be a high sale item from here on out. The poll results indicate that there are only a couple others waiting to place an order.

True enough Dusty! I posted without reading all the previous posts. There is a lot of unknown in the info or lack of it we have. Still, I hope they sell a bunch, and the company stays and grows. I still want some new stuff from SS, and I will need some time to get all of it.

Well I voted maybe later because of cost. Now I am leaning toward saving my nickels and Benjamins. I guess I better get busy and get rid of some stuff so I can buy the do-it-yourself upgrade. Looks like it is bye-bye to one of my 520's, a jointer, a bandsaw and a few
other items. Hopefully by the time I get those nickels and Bennys together there will be more information on the new drive system to seal the deal for me.

Being extremely curious and even more jealous, I was keeping track of who bought(ordered) upgrade kits. I did well on the first ten(10) - well, I think they were the first - but now the poll shows that there are twelve that have been purchased. All I know is that I am not waiting for one to arrive at my shop - not yet anyhow.

Nope, don't need it. Converted my 510 to DC five years ago. Maybe $100 invested. Very happy with it.
