user name
I am a math guy, so I like linear. ( simple) They asked for a "user name" so I was the user and that is my name, and like Bill I don't know what it means. As an added benefit, I can still remember my name.

romanticized story: joinery -> to join -> to attach -> latin is affixare, root of modern word "affix" -> the URL "affix.com" was taken, "affyx.com" was not, thus affyx...
reality: invented a device to join two dissimilar objects, thought about commercializing it and brainstormed on names, the url affyx.com was available and when you find a 5 letter url you grab it. Invention stuck somewhere in the patent process so I use the url for my blog and use affyx on different woodworking forums...

Well, actually, I was raised on a farm. Not a dairy farm, but a farm. My family have been farmers for generations, all the way back to Switzerland. My mom's dad was a farmer too.
I worked in agriculture for awhile myself, being the grain manager at a local farm Coop.
So, I might understand the dairy farmer, but I am still working through the helmet.
