Nah... I painted it. Still had some left over. Took the belt cover off and masked everything else. Alec

Chuck I'm going to try the bandsaw tomorrow and will post results here - I also will try the belt sander and jig saw. Alec

FedEx picked up my PowerPro today. Hey! That thing was a bearcat to remove from the way tubes and lift into the box. Those 81 lbs felt like 100+!:eek: . We wheeled the box down the driveway on a dolly, to the FedEx truck and I watched while the driver struggled to get the box into the van.
I really don't know how you guys who ordered the complete PowerPro headstock managed to mount yours without help. I'm now thinking of a ceiling mounted lift for when the unit returns. By the Way, I've never had a problem with lifting into drill press configuration without a lift. Maybe I'll have to do a little more strength training (in a hurry).

I delegate the heavy lifting (other tasks as well) to my son. When he complains, I remind him of Col. Saito's famous quote in Bridge Over the River Kwai, "Be happy in your work".

As I recall the dear Col was quite unhappy with his work at the end!:eek:

Get a grip on that Power Pro headstock!!! I found it easier to extend the quill a few inches and lock it in place and use the quill housing as a grip.. My wife stood by and helped me guide the PP onto the way tubes. I couldn't see the way tubes or the holes in the casting very well.

Also put the small faceplate securely on the left end top for a hand grip.
