Here we go........ It'll start in CA, but spread thru the rest of the good old USA.

Pretty soon our Gubmint will be so ingrained in our personal live, we'll have to raise our hand to go to the bathroom.

Gotta love it!

Not really surprised! My Daughter in law has told me the school where she teaches (an agricultural/industrial/trade school in S. CA) has a woodworking shop where now ALL table saws are SAW STOP.

All California members of the forum now need to talk with their Representatives (both Assembly and Senate) about this issue. Tell them about your concerns.

You know, I really don't think that it is a bad idea to put 'active injury mitigation' in places like this (public schools and work shops). What I do not like is for it to be ILLEGAL to do otherwise.

Why has this been legislated? I don't know but I'd bet that a trip along the money trail would yield the answer.

If I read this right - it shall become illegal to sell a table saw to anyone that is not so equipped with active injury mitigation. The only good news is that it does not yet say 'to own or operate'.

May be subject to '(mis)interpretation'(caused by only using the word once), but only NEW sales are prohibited.

Next they'll be arresting people for selling raw milk. Oh, wait...

Next they'll be shutting down kids' lemonade stands. Oh, wait...

Next they'll confiscate the school lunch we pack for our kids and force them to each mandated school lunches. Oh, wait...

Everything is illegal.

There's a reason I live way out here in the desert. (BESIDES the fact that it's cheap)
