I have searched for a vacuum chuck for Shopsmith and all I could find was a brand name that supposedly makes one for Shopsmith but I could not find a link to anyplace I could buy one. It's called VacuuMaster designed for solid shaft lathes. Would anyone know where to find them?

They are available http://www.sierramold.com/Wtools.htm, but I don't see a SS adapter.

The site linked in that post seems to have moved here:
http://wonderfulwood.com/articles/

None of the links on the page seem to work, but if you replace the "http://www.enter.net/~ultradad/" with "http://wonderfulwood.com/articles/" then they seem to work.

http://www.bobchapman.co.uk/html/for_woodturners.html was mentioned in another thread. it has a design for a rotary adapter for solid spindle lathes.

http://www.sierramold.com/Wvchuck.htm has the VacuuMaster. In theory you could use a "0520 Threaded Adapter (1&#8221]http://www.vicmarc.com/default.asp?contentID=548[/url] - Rotating Union 10mm inlet - to suit vacuum hose. Part No. V01216. Looks like you would use VM120/150 Insert "Blank 5/8" Through Hole V00597" to adapt it to the shopsmith.

Thank you for the responses.
I'm still in the process restoring of my new (1956) Shopsmith.
I used it about 15 minuets before the motor started poppin' the breaker.
After watching lots of videos I took it apart and found lots of work to do.
So with 15 minutes of experience I'm addicted to wood turning.
I made a new knob for one of my Stanley 45's.
I have purchased a Oneway Talon chuck and jumbo jaws.

I wonder would anyone know if the adapter for the Talon
or any other chuck on this page.
http://www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.a ... 91&p=45612
would fit the VacuuMaster
http://www.sierramold.com/Wvchuck.htm
It's just a matter of three holes lining up right
