Model 10er

I recently acquired this old Shopsmith ( Magna ) from the back of a guys garage. It hasn't been operated in many years and needs much TLC. Lots of rust, some seized shafts and spindle. The serial number of the saw is R31662. Can't find any serial number on the jig saw. Have been cleaning it up and getting things loosened. There is a jigsaw attachment. I'm thinking that there must be something missing where the jig saw sits over the pulleys. There is a hole there that would appear to hold some type of indexing pin. When the motor is turned on, the jig saw vibrates as it is free to bounce since there is nothing holding the back of the jig saw in place. I got this saw with the parts and attachments in an old plastic milk box. Can someone tell me what holds down the back of the jig saw and what that hole is for in the housing just ahead of the spindle pulley? I'm very new to S/S so don't know what all should be there.
I saw where someone on here heads up above the bridge to the U.P. I lived near Marquette for three and a half years. ( KI Sawyer ) Waaaay Toooo Cooooldd. Now its the Willamette Valley in Oregon. Much milder. See some snow every few years.
Any help/pointers will be much appreciated.
