Just curious if anyone has built their own power station or power stand for an SPT? And I'm not referring to a mini or shorty. Has anyone posted a thread on building such? I don't seem to have much luck with the search function.

There is still a jigsaw at my folk's house. Basically big wheeled box with an spt holder on top. A pulley (don't what size sorry) bolted on where the spt drive goes. On the top of the box is a an induction motor driving the belt. (I don't know the HP on the motor or the pulley/belt sizes). I do recall that it worked great for a lot of years and made many projects on it. I currently don't have the room for it and have a modern scroll saw so I have not had a need to retrieve it.

Basically an induction motor, with the correct pulley's and something to mount it to is all you need.

If I were to retrieve and restore this item, I would probably keep the box as it was used for storage. I would add a shield/guard for the belt as well. It could get grabby.

There is a DIY power station in the Lumberjocks forum. The builder calls it the little red wagon. No plans but a pretty decent set of photos.
