Time is Running Out

to beat the price increase.

I placed my small order for repair parts yesterday. I hope it doesn't all go to back order. Actually, it doesn't matter because these are all anticipatory parts.

If my machines keep working like they are, these parts won't even be installed until after I am gone.:)

I ordered my UTR, they said it won't be built till the end of the month and I am not first on the list.

So I will proabably be hit with higher shipping cost, which I was trying to avoid with the price increase.

funny I am told that it was on sale earier in the month, but yet they have to build them.

so with a sale it may not even be in stock.

I think that is taking JIT (just in time) business model a little too far

What is there about this tool (accessory) that makes the UTR "universal"? Does it have a purpose other than as a "tool rest"?

Maybe because it can also be used on a model 10ER.;) Anyone with an original Mark VII try the UTR on its carriage?

I considered ordering one since they appear to be very well designed (not a surprise) and reviews have been good for them. I am probably going to design and build one for myself (metal fabrication is one of my hats) for a couple of reasons. One of those reasons is NOT because I have any concerns about Shopsmith's unit. One big reason is that we are planning about a 4,000 mile trip this summer (Oooh the pain at the pump ) simply because it is time and as we get older we feel the window of good health getting narrower. "All" of our available pennies are being diverted to that fund. Another reason is that I just like the challenge. I also have a couple of other ideas I want to try to incorporate.

I'll start another "trip" thread rather than hi-jack this one.

Dusty is right, if you are planning to buy something don't wait around for prices to get lower... Not going to happen.

Did you get an email to confirm your order? Have you checked order status on the Shopsmith website?
