Scratchin my noggin over this one

Post by wiredone »

???
A Total Shop (Taiwanese) copy of a 610 jigsaw bringing more money than a Shopsmith unit?
Can someone shed some light on this?
I must be missing something.

That is sort of odd but probably due to those who have the tawain machines are now wanting the exact matching accessory. I guess its like those who want a 4e jointer for the 10er vs. a 620 or when an old bandsaw brings higher money vs. a late production bandsaw. Just scratchin'

Another one of those factors that we seldom see any information on is things like shipping info. I am a lot quicker to bid something up a little that is within 10 miles of me than something the same weight that is 600 miles from me. I can make a pickup run really cheap.
One of my trucks is an older 4 X 4 that was on Ebay only about 18 miles north of me. I was able to arrange to go see it in person, kick the tires, hear it run, feel the brakes and tranny etc. I went home and bid what I was willing to pay for it (Auction sniper) and was able to buy it for much less. If it were three states away I couldn't even be sure it existed beyond a picture for sure. (stuff is usually what they say but not always... :)
