Update on bandsaw throwing blades

Several month's ago, I posted a query about my bandsaw problem - it worked fine with the original 1/2" blade but anything smaller just walked off the wheels. I have solved the problem - it was the old tires which apparently had taken a set. I replaced the tires with a new urethane set I bought sometime ago, reset all the adjustments and the bandsaw is bad to working like a champ.
With a bit of hindsight, this was all quite understandable. I bought the bandsaw used at an estate auction probably 10 years ago and I had NEVER backed off the blade tension until a year or so ago. Add a few more years on that the previous owner had probably left it all setup and in tension. Remarkably the wheel alignment was fine but the old tires, although they looked fine, had apparently taken a bit of a 'set'. Worked fine with the original blade but anything else - good luck (or, I should say, 'no luck').
So there you go. I, once again, learned some more about my Shopsmith. Now back to waiting for my new PowerPro to show up.
