Is there a way to minimize the side to side slop on the moveable portion of the power station? I wanted to set it up for pen turning but noticed I have over a 1/8in slop. Then mount the live center on it and it is even more. On a 6 in pen that is a lot. Only other way I can see to make the alignment is by pushing it to one side or the other before tightening the hold down. Any ideas out there?

There is an aluminum knurled ring (collar) on the drive shaft. Loosen the setscrew that secures that collar to see if you can take the lateral movement out then tighten the setscrew.

I have absolutely no lateral movement in the drive shaft on either of my Power Stations.

The problem isn't on the power supply. It is in the sliding SPT holder. Where I would mount the lathe tail stock. The stamped slot on the frame is wider then the holder guide clamp.

You may be able to tighten the SPT lock first and then adjust the lathe tailstock for proper alignment using the typical up and down alignment as described in the owner's manual. The left and right adjustment can be made using the eccentric in the tailstock. This will make it necessary to repeat the alignment when the tailstock is put back on the Mk V. However tailstocks are available on E-Bay for reasonable prices. Use one on the power station and the other for the Mk V.
