You have probably noticed that I had a problem today, with my Sawsmith motor. While cruising this forum for solutions, I found several threads concerning Sawsmith. I felt I was getting negative feed back. I've had my Sawsmith for 12 years now and I still love it. I bought it used. This is the first time anything has gone wrong. Shopsmith , quit making them because of lack of interest. The Sawsmith has done everything I have asked of it. I can't imagine a $4,000. Powermatic doing it any better. To you folks who happen on a chance to buy one, jump on it!

Some folks confuse the sawsmith 2000 with the sawsmith ras.

IMHO no negative feedback is totally justified. They are what they are and AIUI do indeed perform their intended function quite well.

I would love to have a Sawsmith. In fact I have been keeping my eye out for one but haven't found one yet that was near enough to go and get it. Either people love them and they are rarely sold or they are hard to come by.

You would think they were built in Moline rather than Dayton etc.:D
