Great job. Bowl turning is a lot of fun and can be frustrating with some of the more interesting blocks of wood. I suspect you will be doing a lot more turning. I have several blocks ready to turn and can't wait for a day to do so. Keep up the good work. Jim

Nice looking, what finish did you use?

Lovely. I have yet to attempt one, but you have encouraged me.

Looks purty to me!

How challenging was hogging out the concave inner surface with the end grain?

The finish is simple Danish oil, poured in and sloshed around for a bit and slathered down the sides. SWITBO has claimed it for her own.:D

Hogging out the center did take some time, but I think it was worth it. I was worried about taking it too far, so I took my time. I guess the center took an hour or more to remove in very small bites.

Very nice. How did you mount it? Faceplate? Screw chuck? 3 jaw?

Great job, Martin. I turned my first bowl during a Traveling Academy session about two years ago. It was a memorable experience! I was nearing completion when the whole thing exploded on me.

It is obvious that you are the turner and I am the wannabe. Again, great job.
