Question for SSusers that elected to just buy a new replacement PowerPro Headstock. How long does it take to get one?

When I ordered my PowerPro do it yourself version two weeks ago they said that all of the units scheduled to be manufactured for the months of June and July are already spoken for. I assume that means rebuilds, new or do it yourselvers.

WOW, I think that is good news for Shopsmith but I think they should stop doing demos until they can get delivery to within a few weeks or figure out how to increase production.

As I said on another thread I got mine 9 days after I placed the order and most of that delay was two weekends.

Wow! That is really great news. I would gladly wait a couple months for my Mark 7 to be built. This is a good sign that Shopsmith is managing to survive these tough times. I just hope that when asked, at a demo, how long it takes to get a PowerPro that the answer is truthful.

Ordered mine 4/27/12 along with the double tilt. Double tilt is still a ways out according to Jan who called to give me with the tracking numbers last week. Received my new headstock yesterday 6/5. Shipped from Shopsmith 5/30. Lead time at time of order was 4-6 weeks. Surviving -- Heck I'd say they are hitting on all cylinders. Now just need to get it installed. Going to keep my old one and rig it up for a permanent vertical unit. As for waiting on the double tilt, no big deal. It is a rare day when you place an order with a great number of companies right now and don't have a Back ordered item.

Again, I don't know for certain, but I would be willing to bet that parts is the pacing factor and not in house manufacturing time.

We'll that's pretty good news for me. I placed my order for a new PowerPro headstock, double tilt base, and larger caster wheels back on April 29 after signing up and watching the on-line seminar. The seminar was great for me to see & hear more about the upgrades. I especially liked the ability to pose questions during the webinar and get feedback to those questions. I think Doug did superb job hosting as well. ShopSmith doesn't stop by my area much anymore, despite numerous Lowes Stores close by...too small of a marketing area I guess. I think the time and money ShopSmith is spending doing the webinar is a good way to reach out to guys like me that are in small market areas. The modest discounts offered after the webinar helped too. I especially liked the idea they left the discounts available for several days after the webinar. I tend to take more time thinking about large purchases before making my purchasing decisions, and I believe ShopSmith left the discounts available for about 5days after attending the webinar. I hope ShopSmith can get creative and do more webinars in the future that benefit SSusers and generate sales for them as well. I have been an owner since about 1985 and really like the woodworking system Shopsmith offers and hope they will be around for a long time.

So based upon "Tenbears" post, I should be getting close to receiving the items I ordered.
SO THANKS to Tenbears" and the Others for their reply to my post. I am hoping all my order comes in at the same time. Now Iam pondering the best way to attack the upgrade sequencing?

Don't you have an order number that you can plug into the online Order Status and get an official forecast.

Dusty...thanks....I too thought about that. The first couple of weeks the on-line order status... kept reading "not shipped yet". Then the past couple of weeks and now the on-line status reads "in- process" and ship method says "other". I have called a left a message, but have rec'd a call back yet.

Because the value of the PowerPro requires a signature at delivery, Shopsmith will call you when they ship it to give you a heads up.
