On the 500 were the numbers 0 to 4 on the Quill Feed Stop Red or Black or just Aluminum Color. Mine doesn't appear to have any Color on the numbers or lines.

They are red.

And some were black!;)

IIUC the color matches the lettering on the speed dial.
