But in today's economy, if someone can take advantage of this deal, it may generate future sale for SS in other parts/accessories.

I contacted the seller to get info, but haven't heard back yet.
Hope one of our members can take advantage of this deal.

I would be all over this if the funds were there.

I would be very tempted if I was in that part of the country. This highlights the meaning of BIB.

The ad is a bit curious though. Is $900 for all four or just the Mark V. Notice the statements:

Brand new in the box Shopsmith Mark V along with Band Saw 4" Planer and Jig Saw.
All never used and in original boxes never unpacked. Listed for 1/2 what they cost new.

In the photo you see a Scroll Saw (I assume that is the Jig Saw).

Looks like a 510 (you can see the tubular table rail in one of the photos).

While I am always a little cynical of the many "new in box" listings I see for Shopsmith items and still believe some of those are just lightly used items that the owners kept the boxes for, this one would appear to be the proof in the proverbial pudding. I find it amazing that someone would spend big bucks on a brand new Shopsmith 510 (plus the major accessories shown in the listing) and then never bother to open it. The thing is probably at least 13 years old --the 520 was introduced in 1999 and while they still advertize making new 510s, I suspect they didn't get many 510 orders after they introduced the 520 -- and it could be as many as 27 years old. Wild.

From now on, whenever I order new equipment I am going to take photographs before the boxes are open. Then, if I ever want to advertise like this, I'll have the photos.

That is what I was thinking. There was one that came up, in Kansas City that I had the wife talked into, but it sold before I could contact the seller. I would drive for 3 hrs for something like that.

I could make st michaels in a quick morning drive. Been there and it's a very beautiful place. Couple that with a new SS and it might be even better. I'd offer the drive but it seems shipping it to those who are interested would be a serious cost.
Ps..look up tangier island if you have never heard of it. It's off the shore of st michaels a bit. They still speak Elizabethan English over there I believe and it's an amazing bit of history.

Yup. A bit more confusing though. But as you read up on it you'll see there are very few natives of the island left so hearing the native tongue isn't very frequent. Maybe baltimore shares the twang. You can hear it if you listen to the real Baltimore color commentators for orioles games. Don't really know the connection.
