Lowes demo

I went to the Lowe's Shopsmith demo Friday in Madison Alabama. I like the power pro and the 520. But it's not in my budget. I got the free project disk and tried it in 3 computers. It didn't work. The error message was missing folders and files. There were supposed to be 12 projects on it. Has anyone else had any problems with this project CD? I am on the mail list but if your not on it you can go to the Shopsmith site and fill in the form and print a coupon for the disk. Here is the link. http://www.shopsmith.com/event/event_in ... event=L116

Is it a DVD rather than a CD, and do those 3 computers read DVDs? Have you tried a DVD 'player'?

I have three or four of these and I have had problems with all of them; however, I have gotten all of them to work. I can not tell you now just how but the CD's were not bad nor was the computer.

Interestingly, the CDs that I get from Woodsmith all work.

It is a CD according to the ad. Free - 12 Plan Project CD - a $19.95 Value
My computer reads what is on there but not all of it. I can see the listing for the plans but when I click on them it can't find the folder or file.

Same here - I cannot read the disk either & I tried on 3 different computers all with DVD-RW'S. It has IE link files w/ no properties as to where the http is supposed to go look. Oh well, at least I saw the new PowerPro headstock, and know it's out of my price range.

I sent Shopsmith an email about the disk and they said they would send me another one.

I got it to work but I had to type the command in manually. I went to the start menu and clicked inside the search box and typed (e:\winopen.exe / max \index.htm) where e is the letter of my dvd drive and pressed enter. Do not enter the parentheses. I am running windows 7

I believe that the plans on the free CD are from the past HANDS ON magazine issues, many of which can be found online, here:
