I was looking for the thread a couple weeks back about our discussion of old barns. But, I wasn't able to find it so I thought I'd just start a new thread. Well anyway, my dad wanted to go and show off his car at a barn event for father's day. So, we went to a popular old barn/farmers market just north of Gettysburg. I say popular because evidentially this place has been around for quite a while. But really, this was my first time there. I've been by the place a few times in the past. I just didn't know it was a Farmer's Market and Event venue. Anyway it was a neat little event with antique equipment, hot rods, food, venders, music, etc. The barn had a quite unique structure as it was round in shape. So, I thought I'd just share the website for those interested in unique structures such as this one. There is a section in the website about the history of the farm and the barn.

You want to be very careful around those round barns...
All of my life I have heard stories of men dying in them.
It seems that it is fairly common for men to run themselves to death while trying to find a corner to pee in...
It's old farm humor, OK...

LOL! Now I can see that being a real problem with a round barn.
Judas, no that was not the thread I was looking for but I guess I could have posted in that one as well. I just thought the design was real interesting. And, when I walked inside (no not looking for a corner to pee

) you could see that they had built a brick silo strait up the middle for the central support.

Down here at the 'Red Mile'(harness racing) they have a 'floral hall' that used to be a barn and it is at least segmented if not actually round.
The floors are spiraled around so as one walks 'in' they are also going 'up'.
Poor guy would need wings at the top:D

... next, you'll be telling us that they used to hold church in there... the only building that the devil couldn't corner you in!
