Is My PowerPro Coming?

I just got an alert from my bank that I got a $1,400 hit on my credit card from ShopSmith. I received a pending transaction hit the day I submitted my order so I hope this is the real deal. Does that mean my PowerPro DIY upgrade is about to be shipped? I called SS but the lady said she didn't have any information about it being ready to ship but that they would call me when it did. I've got my backup headstock torn down and cleaned and polished just waiting for the new parts to arrive.

I do hope your conclusions are correct

and that the 'lady' is merely non-informed!:)

Many credit companies perform some sort of preliminary posting to your credit card to make certain that it will clear when actually posted. When this is done, there is no actual charge to your card. That is to say that your total balance owed does not change.
If this were I, I would call the credit card company and confirm exactly what has just happened. If the credit card company says that a charge has been posted to your balance, I would then call Shopsmith again.
Why? Because they advertise that they do not charge an order to your account until your order is ready to ship. Since you have been told, by customer service, that she had no indication of your order being ready -- it would make me wonder.
However, since this is a custom order and a relatively large one, they just may buy parts using your nickels rather than their own.

I received calls from Shopsmith the day mine shipped (both times).

I did receive the initial hit to my account the day I ordered, but it has been in a pending status since. I'm assuming that the real charge was what triggered the alert today. I will be turning my first pen tonight so it will be interesting to see what the difference will be with the PowerPro in how it will perform. I'm getting my garage/workshop rewired for 240 as well as air conditioned in two weeks so I will be ready to become addicted to pen turning as some have warned. Can you tell I'm really getting excited about this new adventure in my life.

I can't imagine 220 will have any impact on pen turning, but you may notice the difference when cutting wide dadoes.
