Speed Control?

I recieved an MLCS catalog recently. Inside the front cover is two electronic speed controls for routers. One is a 15 amp and the other is a 20 amp. it says both are designed to deliver the proper current for torque, as well as the voltage required to run the motor at a given speed. sounds like they might work ok for our SS machines. I did try an older Vari-ac one time on a grinder and it did not work like i thought it would. These might be different??

Looking for all the information, technical help and opinions out there??

thanks, bill

I don't believe this will work on an induction motor like on the Shopsmith. Will work on universal motors on routers and such.
