Un-fancy sanding station

Thought I'd throw in a pic of my present sanding station. Works real good for this operation. No dust at all in the air or on the floor. Used the Shopsmith "Stay Put Dust collection hose" for the drum. Had to use a string to stop vibrations that would allow the hose to touch the sanding drum. http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/catalog/stay-put.htm A bit funky, but it works great!:D Easy to break down and set up - nothing permanent to find a place in the shop. May give an idea or two for others.

The present project is sanding 150 small cars and trucks, as seen to the right of the rip fence. The table is tilted to keep the UN-sanded cars close to my reach.

You can enlarge the photo to better see the "Stay Put Hose" (ctrl+) Use (ctrl 0) to restore normal size.

The little bit of dust on the floor is from when I forgot to turn on the DC:( .

I like it, Chuck!

I see you're using the green ceramic strip-sander belts. I've wondered when I might try them, haven't done so yet.

I got my Strip Sander last November, thinking I wouldn't use it much. I actually use it a lot now. (But I do gravitate towards smaller projects.)
