Well congratulations! I opted for the upgrade path myself and have two Mark 7s. I wasn't aware the Webinars were still going on. I was involved in the beginning and enjoyed a huge savings on many items. I also enjoyed the info that Doug shared which is not like the old Saw Dust sessions, but really highlights the use of the new Mark 7.

The Webinars are a great way for people to get good deals on some major Shopsmith items for those people who don't live near a Lowe's where a demo might be held. I went to a demo on Memorial Day to show my neighbor a new Mark 7. The Lowe's manager came over to us & announced an 18-month interest-free financing for anyone who used a Lowes card to make a purchase. Then to really sweeten the offer, they took 10% off the cost of the item plus shipping if one had a military ID card. I had my arm twisted & ended up getting another DVR motor upgrade for a lot less than the Shopsmith retail price. It comes out to $2.40 a day...

The price of the DVR upgrade is a bone of contention for many. It is more than just a motor as it essential replaces everything inside the headstock. I had one of the first 10 upgrades in Aug 2010. It took about 2 weeks for my new upgrade kit to arrive and there have been a number of improvements that made the second upgrade a couple of weeks ago much easier.

Take the time to figure out your shop layout and some projects to make. Be sure to go through the alignments and the exercises in the safe use of the Shopsmith. Oh, if you want to take full use of the Mark 7, be sure to have a 220/240 VAC outlet and you'll have 2.0 horses of power to make your wood chips.
