I haven't done a complete analysis of this site but have a recommendation. If I am off base or have overlooked something (which my wife informs me is common) please take no offense but direct me to the proper way to access the information.
Another forum (Lincolnsonline.com) has a Tech section
http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/tech.html that contains articles on repair for Lincoln owners. DaKat, the Administrator, apparently uses the same software as it looks very much like this. These tech articles are easily referenced by members and easily printed. I have submitted 3 or 4 and others have contributed far more. Perhaps a Tech Section could be added here rather than having to search posts, one could just access that area.

1) Another forum (Lincolnsonline.com) has a Tech section
http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/tech.html that contains articles on repair for Lincoln owners. DaKat, the Administrator, apparently uses the same software as it looks very much like this. I think this would be the intent of our Maintenance and Repair section. We are mostly a shopsmith sponsored site with Admin support. We are left pretty much to our own and members here respond to most repair and maintenance based on our knowledge and experience with the help of shopsmith documentation. I do not believe shopsmith has had or plans to add staff to tend to these matters. Being as free as we are posts tend to end up where they end up and going off topic is I think more common then staying on subject. This is the way the wind blows here, and most of us have come to be as helpful as we can with only an occasional few outlaws.
2) It appears that this forum is set up on a FIFO (first in first out) system where you have the first post but don't know if there has been a new comment without accessing it and going to the last one. I'm fairly adept at deciphering these things but can't see how a new post appears at the top of the list LIFO (last in first out). That makes it much easier to know if something has been added.
You have the option of setting up posts to be in which of the two orders you prefer, that is an option under User CP. Here are a couple of images to help get you started.

What has brought this to my attention is looking for information only to discover it was posted but never seemed to appear except at the end of an earlier post. The new post simply wasn't at the top of the stack but at the bottom.
Hopes this helps a bit.
