Darn you Dusty...
I couldn't get out of Harbor Freight today without buying a dial indicator and some holding thingies for it.
I guess I read to many of your threads.
At Purdue one of my circuits professors said NASA used slide rule calculations in many cases.
Three digit accuracy was good enough to get to the moon.
I guess computers are necessary now because rocket scientists are no longer taught slide rule.

You might want to take your slide rule out to the shop too. I have mine there and I actually use it every now and then.
I have a real nice Pickett Log Log Duplex in a black leather case. I received it as a graduation gift.

I have two Picketts one small shirt pocket size and the huge one they recommended at the tech school.
I don't think I could use one for more complicated than figuring out gas mileage...
That's all I've ever used them for after school days.

Ah...life before pocket calculators. I was there. It's all we had in late 60's and early 70's. Still have my Picket and the leather case. Doubt if I could remember much more than basic calcs now.

Woops, I go back just a little bit further that that.
Here is my first slide rule. Given to me (mom probably paid the school) for the slide rule class.
