Sell whole or part out?

I spent the day working on my latest purchase, a 1988 Shopsmith Mk V 500. I replaced the upper drive shaft bearings, and did all the required maintenance. Unit runs very nicely now.

I have a second unit that I am thinking of selling. It too is a Mark V 500, 1981 year model. It has the 2 bearing quill upgrade, new belts, and has also been fully serviced. It too runs very well.

I also have an extra band saw, and a jointer I don't need. I'm keeping one of the Shopsmith band saws so I can have one band saw set up with a 1/4" blade. That leaves my 16" Grizzly band saw for re-sawing.

Would I get more for the mark V by parting it out or selling as a package? Should I keep the base and use it as a tool stand and sell the headstock? I'm not an e-Bay seller yet, but I'm willing to learn.

Let me know your opinions.

Thanks

They almost always sell higher as parts than a complete machine.
A few years ago I bought over 25 over about a 2 year period. Many "very" cheaply. In many cases I sold (Ebay) one accessory that had come with one for more than I paid for the whole purchase.
