I've noticed the 10ER way tubes are much thicker than the Mark V. They are the same OD, 1.75 " I'm wondering if I used 10ER way tubes in my Mark V/7 if if they were be any benefit?

I started looking a couple of weeks ago and many people on this forum and the 10ER Forum were nice enough to give me 8 tubes. I figured I could make a 10ER lathe extension once I learn the ID of the piece of solid stock to guide the external extension to the end of the tubes on the lathe bed.

Anyone know the OD of the solid stock piece.
