We need a charging station for cell phones, tablets, netbooks, Kindle, etc, that will replace the TV tray that sits beside the pantry and provide a bookcase for cookbooks:

I have the side panels ready to finish-sand and assemble:

Here are the rest of the pieces/parts (White Ash) in raw form:

Think I better dump the bag on the DC before continuing:D

Slow and not too steady progress

This little project has fought me every step of the way. Course, I haven't dedicated a lot of time....just grab a few minutes when I can. Funny how life gets in the way like that sometimes.

Finished fitting and hanging the doors today. Still have to cut fit and shape the drawer front. And, I've got to pick up a couple of boards to create a top. Maybe I can get it finished by Christmas

This simple little project has kicked by backside every step of the way....It beat on me enough that I actually got to the point I didn't want to work on it. Last week, I decided to finish it over the weekend.....come hell or high water.

Saturday, I ran a piece of ash thru the thickness planer and glued up the top and a shelf. I did the final fit of the drawer to the slides and mounted it(I had made the drawer box a couple of weeks ago).
Yesterday, I squared up the shelves and got them fitted and squared up the top.
I cut the top to allow a 2" overhang on the front and sides, but when SWMBO and I looked at it, it appeared to be clunky and top heavy.

So, I trimmed it down to a 1" overhang on the sides and moved it back to give 1" on both front and back (decided we needed an overhang on the back to allow the power cord a place to hang).

Charging drawer.

Now, if I can get another weekend of nice weather, I can do the finish sanding, get the finish applied, and get this sucker in place. Might even make it by THIS Christmas :p
That might be a little optimistic, but I'll try.

Finally completed and in place

Life, weather, and general stuff got in the way. I put a base coat of my 3-part brew on a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday was a gorgeous day with minimal wind. I made a trip to the local hardware store and picked up a couple of cans of Zinsser Spray Shellac. 4 hours later, I had 3 coats on and called it "done".
