DC-3300 and two port lower guard on 500

Hello,

Just curious if anybody uses a Mark V 500 with the latest lower guard system (two 2-1/4" ports) with the DC-3300 dust collector? I'm currently using mine with a shop vac and dust deputy. It's not the greatest and my thinking is the DC-3300 will utilize both ports and since it's a dust collector and not a shop vac, its moving air and chips as opposed to sucking. For this lower guard to work with a shop vac may be impossible because of the gaps and lack of the tie bar shield sealing to the guard. I am aware that the 510/520 saw guard work better, but I'm asking about a 500 :). But any who, does anybody have any experience or thoughts on the matter?

That's the setup I have. I keep one port covered and have the hose attached to the back port. Works pretty well - doesn't get it all of course, but I'm pleased with it. Alec

Hmm, I never thought to block one of the chutes. I might just try that. There's a DC-3300 on craigslist for a good price and I'm wondering if having two hoses really helps with the 500 system.

This is the set up I'm refering to and would like some input as to the performance. I know it won't get everything but I gotta think it would do better then my current set up.
