I dissembled the power head today. And have a question about a lock washer I found on the shop floor. Not sure if it came from the powerhead of not. Can some one tell me this. Also I found a washer with a flange on it loose on the splined shaft when I removed the quill Not shure where it came from or where it goes it was just loos on the splines .

second part is from your single bearing quill. It goes inside and helps keep gunk out.

Without a scale next to the first part I am guessing that it is the lock washer for the power switch. It goes inside the headstock between the switch and the headstock casting.

Very good I think your correct I guess it fell out when i took the switch out.

The second part(the ring) is placed over the spline when assembling the quill into the headstock. It serves to help center the inside end(a single bearing quill is quite floppy).
