I just inherited a Shopsmith 10ER made by the Magna Engineering Corp.
It is in very good shape and I have most of the parts. I was wondering if anyone knows if replacement parts are available for this model and if so, where they can be obtained. Since the machine is over fifty years old I figure parts may be a problem. Any help would be appreciated. I do have the original parts list with prices (in 1953 dollars).

No real parts are still being made that I am aware of I have 2 ER's and most parts are coming for other ER owners and On Ebay, MKC Tools in Dallas Tx run by Skip is the main expert I know on ER along with Califsawdustman.com. Between them and the ER users forum you can find out most everything you need to know. If needed contact me off site at wlhayes@cox.net and I can get you some information and sites. It is a great tool. I also have a 510 and would never part with any of them.

I am wondering if anyone is aware of the 10ER can be used for turning light metal parts.

I am also wanting to know what parts are used when mounting the extension
table for turning wood. I wan to know the parts i need to do this.

For 'turning', the tailstock is used with a tailstock center attached. If you need pix to help you identify those parts give a yell. There are two versions = 10E and 10ER. The tailstocks differ.

Thanks for the you tube video. I can see where it would be a lil pricey to set it up with a chuck, but I am looking for parts as we speak.

Turning on these old Shopsmith are great. They have a heftier weight compared to a Mk5 making it more ideal for turning, with the exception of getting a lowest possible speed.

You don't need a fancy chuck for starting out. Go with what they originally came with and for a minimal cost, you just need a spur drive center for the 5/8 arbor on your headstock and the tailstock cup center (Morse taper 2). Expect to pay $20 to $30 for both lathe center pieces. The cup center fits into the tailstock bracket and when you first remove the extension table. You also need the tool rest and post attached to the table carriage.
