Last week I completed a special anniversary, spice rack for my bride of 42 years. Our newest old house has a really tiny kitchen. Thus my bride re-purposed a hall closet into a pantry. She desired a 39 1/2" tall and 16" wide spice rack with six shelves. I hope you enjoy viewing it both empty and filled. Jim

My apologies, every time I downsize pictures I forget that tall pictures don't work well here. I shall try again. Jim

VERY nice job Jim.

It appears the rack is screwed to the door. Is it a solid core door? If not what type fasteners did you use? The doors in my house are hollow core so fastening anything with significant weight becomes a problem quickly.

Again, nice job on this project.

Leonard,

Thanks for the comments which are appreciated. Our house came with hollow core doors. Over time all will be replaced with 6 panel doors. This closet was the first. So no it is not screwed to a hollow core door. Jim

Nice idea, all right there in plain sight. My wife has all of hers on a shelf and has to move them around to find what she is looking for.

Thank you for the nice comments. Our kitchen is so small spices were residing in cardboard box on the floor of the pantry closet. It tickles me every time needs a spice how thrilled she is with the rack. While deciding upon this solution we looked at numerous options in stores. All seemed to be huge space hogs. This one occupies the upper portion of an 18" wide closet door. Given how narrow the hallway is we needed narrow depth for the shelves. Once totally filled No one spice will be totally hidden from view. Thanks again for the comments. Jim
