Since I am a recent owner of an old but perfectly working Mark V 500, I have been lurking here, breakfast, lunch and dinner. As to many blade questions that I have seen about the SS 1 1/4 vs the rest, I bit the bullet for the SS crosscut blade right after having just bought a competitor blade for my other (soon to be given to my daughter) table saw. Both were expensive, both of seemingly equal quality. The cut from the other blade was great until I compared it to the SS. The SS cut was so smooth, it looked and felt like it had been 320 grit hardwood sanded: butter smooth. Since my SS had been sitting up for about 25 years, I tried keeping the minimum rust away with the Minwax... then the Harley chrome polish...but moved to the Empire Tool 6-D Tool Saving Kit ($37) Amazon. The Top Coat made my table top look brand new and silky smooth. If the rest of the kit works as well, it will be great. I bought a replacement sawdust hanging bag to go under my Ryobi table saw and its round plastic hose attachment fit perfectly on the hole of my 510 (I think) lower plastic blade guard with only minimum sanding to round off two corner edges. A matching screw now holds it on. Now I have to paint that name off the:) bag black. Thank you thank you thank you to all on this site for all the hints and things you leave here.

If you have been lurking you already know it, but this is a great, supportive group. All questions I have had were newbie in nature and they have really helped me.

Thanks, and just like those shop vacs, I'm sucking up everything I can about the Mark V. I saw someone's attachment cutting some long boards and I clearly saw they had three mitre extension tables, one on each table. That gave me about another 8 inches in front of the tablesaw blade; something I was sorely missing on my last tablesaw. I bought them! Thanks again, K:)
