We are finally there. The financial manager has given me the green light to put the RV in the garage and to do whatever is required to make it road worthy.

AAA will be here next week to haul it off.

Once we have recovered from the pack rat damage, it goes to Camping World for a complete health check. I can do it all but SWMBO thinks that I should have it done. I think she might be loosing confidence in my technical skills.

I hinted that when we were using the rig before, it seemed like we consumed propane rather quickly. Right away she assumes LEAK. It will be easier to let Camping World do a soap test and I'll never hear about a leak again. I also need to learn to KEEP MY THOUGHTS TO MYSELF.

I must admit, I am rather anxious to get back out on the road. We have not done that since before I had my first knee surgery - almost 7 years ago.

Seven years since it's been on the road? Time for a new set of tires, brake and master cylinders (dry seals) and maybe hoses, brake pads, axle seals, transmission service, maybe seals and gaskets, engine tune up, new belts and hoses, flush power steering fluid, brake fluid, service A/C, etc. etc, just for starters. I predict $3,000 just to get it road worthy again. I hope I'm way off But that's a lot less than buying a new one ($100,000 plus).

It hasn't been up on blocks for 7 years, Fred; it just has not been on a long trip away from home. However, you are right on target.

We have $4000 set aside with $1400 going for tires and brakes. I'm also going to spend about half that much getting some work done on the F250. We made the decision to not buy a new car but I need my truck.

The RV has turned into a "money pit" that has the potential of putting me so far in the hole that I'll never again see the light of day.

I'll not go into details because you are not interested in my self pity. Suffice it to say that the Christmas trip has been canceled and my thoughts of a PowerPro are further away than ever.

End of story...End of thread.

I'll just continue to enjoy making sawdust as I have for years...with what I have.

Dusty, just borrow from China. Your debt is so much smaller, they should have no problem with it.

Thanks Steve. I don't have a lot of uncommitted funding but I do have an excellent credit rating---but then I am 73. They might not want to loan to an old guy.

Seriously, we'll not need to borrow to survive. We just need to do what I think our Government should do - CONTROL SPENDING.

Dusty, sorry to hear that the motorhome has turned into a money pit. Having been in the auto wrecking business for over 30 years I can understand what you are experiencing. And I am sure a lot of other forum members have also experienced a similar thing. Hope things work out to your benefit soon. But just keep smilin' cause it keeps everyone else guessing...

Amen to that......I have a sucky medical problem going on right now that I thought when I went to the Dr. a week ago it would get better......But oh no, looks like I will be headed back to Dr. on tuesday.....Hope he gets it figured out soon....
