It's been quite a while since we heard from Nick.
There is an article in today's Columbus dispatch about the Wright Brothers Aeroplace Co.

You would think the Wright Patterson Air force base in Dayton would be interested.

I'm going to take this info to our County Commission and see if they're interested. We already have the Valaint Air Command War Bird Museum, Ploice museum and hall of Fame, Astronaut Hall of Fame, Kennedy Space Center, Kinght's Armament is building a new Military Museum, and all this is on one road, within 8 miles of each other. Then we have mickey mouse world and other stuff in the Orlando area.

I'd love to see it here, and being almost retired, I'd volunteer to work there.....also having a great interest in things that fly.....

Cinci, the silence from Dayton is deafening and has been for many years. That's why we are looking elsewhere. We're actually talking to several communities at this time; Montgomery is just the only one to come to the attention of the press.

Brick, if your serious about trying to interest folks in Titusville, I suggest you print out a copy of our "PIREP" from http://www.wright-brothers.org/General/ ... _PIREP.pdf . That will give you an overview of the Wright Brothers Aeroplane Company and what we do. For more details about our Birth of Aviation collection, download http://www.wright-brothers.org/General/ ... tunity.pdf . Finally. there's a short movie at http://www.wright-brothers.org/Exhibits ... _video.htm which shows parts of the collection set up and audience reaction to those artifacts.

The sticking points with most interested parties are these: First, the collection is massive; the airplanes and artifacts require about 15,000 sq ft to set up in their entirety. Few museums have this sort of space available; few communities have the funds to build this sort of space to the building codes that museums must adhere to. Second, most aviation museums take a smorgasboard approach to aviation history; they have a few planes from each era. Nine planes from the pioneer era seems excessive to these folks, nor do they seem to appreciate the concept of using nine planes to tell a single story.

I'm just throwing this out, but want about Tucson? The AF boneyard, Davis-Monthan AFB? Pima Air Museum? I'm not down there, but quite a few members here, live in Tucson.

Mesa? Falcon Field? CAF is out here, there.

Just suggestions.

Besides, Arizona is a GREAT place to park some SSs!

Hi Nick, I already did!! Got it to our District County Commissioner. He has just been re-elected and has been working really hard for our area since the Shuttle program shut down. Coming from Orlando into Titusville on SR 405, we have Knight's Armement, Police Hall of Fame and range, Astronaut Hall of Fame with a life size Shuttle out front, then into the Space Center and there is the KSC Visitor's Center with an Educational Facility that host's tons of kids every year. I know because I used to put on radio control demo flights for them and they used our NASA R/C Flying site for model rockets. I think I read they do about 4 to 5 million vivitors a year. We also have the Viliant Air Command and Museum just before the Police Museum. Leave KSC area and head south and you come to Port Canaveral and the Disney Boats........

If you dont mind, I'm going to print this out and take it by his office??
