lathe work

back in the shop trying to get the swing of things.

couple of turned pieces here.

like my new universal tool rest from SS, but don't like how it keeps me further away from the tail stock more than the stock tool rest.

Why must you be further from the tail stock? I've never seen a UTR up close, so I have no Idea, Just curious.

I want to be closer to the tail stock, but the banjo base is bigger than the stock tool rest base so even with using the quill some smaller projects that you want both head and tail stock support- it doesn't reach.

I have a larger live center for the tail, i got from SS that helps, but really not enough.

The lathe duplicator comes with an extension for the live center. CS may be able to get you one(or two).

It extends the center an additional 1 1/2 ".
