three bowls and a pot

With all the recent posts about turning bowls I decided that I just had to give it a shot. Had some gnarly cherry and a piece of 12/4 poplar in the scrap box. I just had to get away from pens for a bit
The first pic is three cherry bowls and the pot. The bowl with the flame pattern grain apparently came from the crotch of the tree or the junction of a branch and the trunk.
The greenish pot is from a piece of poplar stained dark walnut and the turned again to remove the majority of the stain. I wanted to fill the holes left by the powder post beetles but my wife said they added character.
