dust hood for dewalt dw733 planer

Hi all
I've had this planer for a year and really like it. Up until now I've just "rigged" up a 4" shop vac floor tool to it for dust collection and it worked OK.
Unfortunately now it keeps falling off and annoying me. I'm not too happy about buying the dewalt dust hood since its pricey and not the way I usually go about things like this.
Have any of you built your own dust hood for your planer? No matter the brand of planer, would you mind sharing your pics and stories? It would help me in the design of my custom built hood.
