Puzzled?

With band saw on left end It gets in the way of lifting the head stock into the drill press position. Am I missing something or just live with taking the band saw off when I switch to drill press mode?

You need a set of the bandsaw eccentric mounting tubes in order to be able to leave your bandsaw on and switch to drill press mode:

I take it that you have the aluminum table?

If you have the alumimum table but do not have the special band saw springboard eccentric tubes you can still go vertical without removing the band saw. Simply tilt the band saw table to its maximum. You will just barely squeak by.

Ahh, a neat solution. Does it introduce any difficulties with alignment? It seems as though it must raise the SPT height some.

Mine needed to be 11/16"(plus the 'post' length) from the top of the spt mount to the end of the post mount in the band saw.
So a flat washer is between the upper post and the 'bar'.
The bar rests on top of the spt mount, the upper post rests on the end of the 'bore' for the spt tube in the bottom of the band saw.
Still 'wiggles', but it ain't the offset mount causing kit.]).

Too bad they don't come from Shopsmith this way.
Of course if you have a double tilt, don't all the SPTs have to come off to go into vertical drill press mode?

I'd bet that if you milled a half dozen of these and made them available, you just might find yourself a "best seller" on eBay. Most anyone with the "spring board" needs these.
