Live cup center

Hello, My name is Mike and I've owned my shopsmith mark 5-510 since 1996
during that time I've made a few things and have employed every aspect of my machine. I mostly like to make small projects e.g. coin boxes, bird houses, pens etc. The question I have is has anybody tried to replace the bearing in the live cup center? Mine has developed a slight wobble and was just wondering if this part can be repaired or do I need to purchase a new live cup center @ $42.

Here's a recent thread that discussed this:

Purchased my live center through Amazon but offered by PSI, and I love it and didn't pay half that amount. So...with getting a really reliable new one for say $20, why go through all the hassle of attempting to replace the bearing?

I too have a Penn State Industries (PSI) live center. Works like a charm and is half the price.
