Shopsmith Very Rude On The Phone Today

I seen a few items on ebay that I want to purchase so I figured I would give Shopsmith a call first and make sure they have them in stock ( I have never ordered from the company b4 and I was excited that I would be able to make my first order altho this call was just to make sure a certain item was in stock and had a few other questions). I have read on here b4 to check with the company first because prices on ebay sometimes go for more than the prices from the company ect. The main item I'm looking to purchase is a little more to purchase from the company than ebay but I want to help support the company. I also have a list of service parts and a few things that I dont need but figured what the hell why not buy them seeing I'm ordering. Anyways I had the wife call (Always have her do the phone calls for questions haha, I do the calls for ordering lol). She was very friendly asking the questions ect (thats just her nature). When she hung up the phone she explained how rude and snottty the man was and how he acted like she was bothering him and he didn't have the time for her. This really makes me mad because I want to order from them but I will not support companies that act this way to ppl that are trying to spend thier hard earned money with them. Now I understand everyone has a bad day and I would have never came on here to tell my experience but I have read more than once how their customer service was rude.
Shopsmith PLEASE give the man answering your phone calls a course in Customer Service!!! I don't want this sour taste to last in my mouth.

Ahhh The perils of 'Dave'!
Rest assured the two 'gals' are very much different!
Do not judge the firm by the actions exhibited today to your wife.

i placed an order last week over the phone with linda. i needed a couple of pieces that i could not find online (a switch mounting bracket for an older power stand and a 510/520 hub for a sanding disk) she could not have been more helpful or polite. she found the hub but not the bracket and the order arrived today. think i'll go open that box now.

I've been there and done that...

Spent 15 minutes on hold right before line closing time hoping to get it, but gave up once we got past 430 eastern. Same thing as the OP said was mentioned a little while on Toolmonger and as I recall Dusty didn't agree.
I will agree that every time I call and get Linda she is a great help and extremely knowledgeable.

I don't recall any names but the few times I've called I talked to females that were extremely helpful and polite.

Jan and Linda are the backbone of customer service. The other name, well he seems to be a bit challenged some days. On one occasion he was unable to assist me. I called again another day and Jan sorted out the issue instantly. The one thing that I realize is the commitment Shopsmith has to their employees. A rare treat in our world. Jim

I agree that Linda is super helpful and knowledgeable. She always solves my problem and is very courteous.
The only gentleman I have spoken with is not very helpful since, as he said, he is not a woodworker. Why is he there in Technical Support? Who knows.
