They say 'what goes around, comes around'. Over the years, I have given away instruments, tools, and other stuff, usually to talented young people who could use it, and who show some interest in developing their skills.
Yesterday, I noticed an ad in the Free section of CraigsList. This fellow advertised some veneer and tools. So I sent an email, and got a call within 5 minutes. I arranged to go over and pick up what I thought was going to be a few items. I received four large cardboard boxes of veneer (mostly walnut, bookmatched flitches), and rolls of what looks like mahogany veneer, along with every tool, and other item needed to setup a veneer shop. There must be thousands of dollars invested in this collection... and I was given this for nothing. The fellow said he is getting too busy and wanted to pass this on to someone who will treasure it and use it. Which is what I plan to do.
I'll get pictures, but I'm still unboxing and sorting it all out, tools here, wood there, chemicals there, that sort of thing. Mind blown!
