The purpose/reason should become clear as you scroll down:

I bought the casters for this purpose. The 1 1/4 x 1 1/4 x 1/8 angle iron was re-purposed from some shelves I had made/moved/cut down.

I wish I could push that cart around the shop a bit. The wheels are not installed like I would have done. I would have put the swivel type in-line with the non-swivel type.
I assume it works or you would have said so. It just looks strange to me.

You caught my design flaw. Gonna diagonal swap a pair. But, the setup is light enough that it's not really difficult to change directions anyway.
Am also going to mount a couple of screw-down legs to more firmly anchor it to the floor.
Fixing my "design flaw"/"Duh-moment at assembly time"

Now, the fixed wheels are perpendicular to the front of the band saw. Helps to keep the thing from moving around when sawing. The next time I'm at the hardware store, I'll pick up a couple of nuts and bolts to stick some leveling legs on the back side to for more resistance to movement and to help if I'm on an uneven surface.
It now moves around without sliding the el-cheapo Horror Freight wheels.

Just turn a couple of "piano caster cups". Tip it a bit and slip them under one pair of casters. They also make hard rubber ones with the same shape cup.
Cheap, simple and no moving parts.
