Hey!
On occasion the saw arbor is working loose on my Mark V 510. I normally push the saw blade and "rock" it back and forth as I am tightening the set screw but have tried both ways - rocking and just tightening. Has anyone experienced this and have a workable solution?

It may be time to replace the set screw. Also, chase the arbor threads with a 5/16-18 tap to clean any gunk out. Check the condition of the flat on the spindle, it may need dresssed with a file if it is eroded from the setscrew. Check for burrs or other problems on both the spindle and arbor that may prevent the arbor from seating against the quill.

Yes, as Jim has said, get a new set screw and try to use one with thread lock already applied.

Don't reuse the set screw. It is being replaced for a reason. It no longer works like it should.

Thanks for the tips!! I've put a new set screw in - here's to hoping it will correct the problem.
