After it sells I'd love to hear the story.

Includes a bandsaw, scroll saw, and $750 ShopSmith gift certificate.

I'm curious about how the giver(s) of this great gift feel about it being sold rather than being used BUT I don't think I want to hear it. It has to be sad.

Not that it makes any difference but it looks more like a jig saw to me. Do they still sell them. If not, strange that it is included as part of the total package purchased just a few months ago. Something doesn't smell right to me:eek:

The BS & JS were purchased separately.

The seller has been on e-bay since 2005.

Last sold items were in 2007(feedback info).[three buyers][mercedes parts]

If I had $4000 to fork over, this would no longer be listed. I'd jump on the Buy Now price.

Definitely a jig saw, so that must have been bought on E-Bay by someone. Also note that the sanding disc shows some wear, so assuming it's the one that came with the new set up, someone at least put this machine to some level of minor use.

When you sell something, whether it's on ebay, craigslist, or wherever, the back story can be a big part of the selling process. While it might technically be deceptive to make up a plausable reason to sell something so that the buyer won't be thinking (as some of us might be in this case) "I wonder what's really wrong with it...why would they sell it if it was okay"

People do it all the time because they want it gone, and I suppose in the end, if the pruduct is exactly as described, condition wise, it's kind of a "no harm, no foul" thing. Now I'm not saying that this is the case here, but as long as the machine is as described & shown in the pics, the reason for the sale is not relavent. After all, maybe he just bought it, his wife saw the cost and threatened to throw his butt out in the street unless it was gone in a week.(anyone ever been in a similar situation...could happen)
