Has something changed here? In the last couple of days I've noticed that when I'm at the SS Forum some words are now hot e.g., "tool" or "woodworking" or "repair" and when my mouse slides over them an advertisement pop's up.

So is this something new here or have I contracted a "disease"?

Thanks!

I have not witnessed that but I will keep alert and post if I do.

Do you use a virus program? If not you need to start. Sounds like one may have slipped under the door.

Dem darned trojans! I received an email from one of the other forum members with a weird subject. I simply clicked on it & did not open any links. Within 3-4 minutes, every person in my Yahoo address book was sent a strange massage with no two having the same subject.

I use a MacBook which is one way I am shielded. But there is so much. Do you like Apples? The Apple operating system is noted for being inherently safe from viruses. Well, to my knowledge, the first computer virus was contracted on an Apple. How do you like dem Apples?

Just be careful & make sure you are sure of the sites you visit & the emails you open. Some of these, viruses, worms, trojans will shut off your protection and BAM! You might have a key logger or or who knows from some person in North Korea or Russia or any place where people get off on hurting others. Cyberterrorists. Beware.

Sounds like you might have some Malware. :( :( If you don't already have a Malware remover download one here.

Had the same thing happen to me after installing some "free" ware. I don't recall the name of it but it wasn't too hard to get rid of. It is a "helper" tool bar sort of thing. Doesn't seem to be any negative effects but since I really didn't want it I got rid of it.

Tools - Add-ons - Extensions - look for something like "1clickdownloader" or some name like that and remove it. Then go to control panel and remove the program with like name.

I use Norton which comes with my subscription to internet service from Comcast.

I did get a Malware warning from my system while trying to download a mortgage calculator, but I also got a message saying it was removed.

Joe I'll try to download you recommended.

Thanks for all your insight!

Has anyone noticed that on Windows 7 clicking the "Mark Forums Read" does not remove the highlight from the each subgroup that says there is new posts?

I have an XP machine and when I click that function all the subgroups get their indicators changed from New post to No new posts.
But on my window 7 machine nothing changes.

What is going on??
